Some Aspects of Students with Special Educational Needs’ Psychological and Educational Features

The article analyses biological, psychological, social-pedagogical aspects in general psycho-pedagogical characteristics of students with special educational needs.

In the study of biological aspects characteristics of individual features of students with disabilities, depending on the nosology of diseases were considered. I, II, III stages of disability based on S. Popov studies were characterized by the personal characteristics of a person with impaired locomotor. Also characteristic patterns of development of the individual with hearing and vision impairments may be allocated from the perspective of specialists in this area (I. Soloviev and T. Bogdanova, A. Litvak, L. Kuznetsova). Students with internal organs disorder may be separated as a special group.

Considering psychological aspects the author analyzed the theory of mental development of the individual with disabilities in the context of socio-psychological situation of their development in the disease from the perspective of research by L. Vygotsky, L. Bozovic, B. Zeigarnik, B. Bratus.

Within the social-pedagogical aspects the following conclusions were made: first, students with disabilities refer to a particular social group of people with disabilities, and secondly, when a young person with special needs is included in the new environment of the university, he needs help with his life choices, formation of certain social roles and implementation of his life plans.

The analysis of psycho-pedagogical literature about the characteristics of students with disabilities allows to state one fact, which requires study in the social and pedagogical aspect, namely, due to irrelevance of young people with disabilities in the labor market their particular social isolation is a process of removing them from society, the world, that inhibits the formation of their active life position.

In connection with this problem specialist education and upbringing in a specialized higher education institution is involved in the creation of social-pedagogical environment conducive to the optimal formation of students' with disabilities individuality, achievement of their goals in the learning process, implementation of appropriate behavior in various situations.
